   Kim Min-hye, a sophomore from the department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, passed away in a tragic accident on September 6th, around 09:40 P.M. She fell from the roof of Wonheung Hall and was soon sent to the hospital, but was unable to be saved.

   According to the Office of Public Relations, the police made a conclusion that it was an accident due to intoxication based on CCTV images and descriptions from students. Kim had attended a dinner party with several friends and professors before the accident occurred. After the party, Kim’s friend walked Kim to school to help her sober up. While the friend was having a phone call when the accident happened, the he security camera showed Kim’s figure tottering, supposedly drunk, on the rooftop, losing her step, and then fall.

   Kim’s funeral was held during September 7th to September 9th. Donggukians who had not been to the funeral commemorated her death at the memorial altar which was set up for six days by the student council of the College of Engineering. Kim Sun-jong, the chairperson of the student council of the department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, said, “Min-hye was a friend to all of the students in our department. We are very sorry and still cannot believe that we will never see her again. She will not be forgotten, ever.”
