On March 14th, the 34th Daesungsa scholarship award ceremony was held in the meeting room of the school founding committee which is on the fifth floor of Dongguk University Main Hall. Chairman Don Kwan, President Yun Jae-woong the president of Dongguk University, Minister of Foreign Cooperation, Student Minister of School Affairs, chief monk, and Professor Jeong Seun g-seok of the Buddhist University attended the meeting. The scholarship was sponsored by Buddhist monk Beopjeong of the Daeseongsa Temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism and was awarded for the development and future of students. The scholarships were awarded to 10 students who were selected through a fierce competition rate of 32.5:1.
President Yun Jae-woong said that it was his first scholarship ceremony since he took office as president, and that the scholarship is unique to Dongguk University and hopes to create a good relationship with the monk Daesungsa and their friends. The students expressed their feelings that they would not use the scholarship for planning and vain to achieve their dreams and develop themselves.
