The Problem Is Not "What? But "How"

The 321st edition of The Dongguk Post has the title of Welcome to My Campus Life.?Maybe it was written with the intention of giving readers an opportunity to compare their lives with others through seven students?campus lives. However, even if the item is meaningful, it is not fresh. I can understand why reporters adopted the issue as a cover story, but the way the reporter approaches the readers is a little bit monotonous. I can't but agree with other critics who habitually use the comment, "Its intention was good but.....?
The Cover Story features various aspects of seven students?lives, but it is so common. And it seems difficult to find something distinctive in their lives. Each student's life in the Cover Story is in danger of becoming monotonous as everyone's life is monotonous in itself. Actually, it doesn't mean everyone's life is meaningless. However, it needs an editor's keen view, which can make seven students?lives into valuable ones. The problem is not "what" but "how."?
In the Cozy Lounge interview, I wondered what the Post is aiming because there wasn't any explanation showing why the Post interviewed the poet Lee Jung-ha. I couldn't find the criteria for the selection of an interviewee. Is he a great literary man or a popular writer? It is important for readers to understand the intention of reporters while they read articles. However, readers aren't cozy while reading the Cozy Lounge because it is impossible to find the intention of reporter through the article.
If I should evaluate the Post on the whole, I would give it high remarks. Because the Post is grasping its merits and demerits as a monthly magazine and is trying to cover university students?various concerns and interests.
However, as a monitor of The Dongguk Post, I felt some articles?intentions are not easy to understand. I think that someone who feels cozy is not an editor but a reader of The Dongguk Post.

The writer is an editor-in-chief of the Dongguk University Graduate School Newspaper.
