The Love of Teaching
Well-being is very popular in Korea. One popular well-being exercise that people do is Yoga.  When you think of yoga what comes to your mind? Did you know that there are different types of Yoga? For many the first thing that they think of is exercising that requires a lot of flexible movement called Hatha Yoga.
However, there is also a different type of yoga called Raja Yoga Meditation.  Here is someone that can introduce you to that type Yoga.
Ruth Liddle, who has been teaching English for about 23 years, is an instructor for the English Conversation classes at Dongguk University (DU).  She has also been doing and teaching Raja Yoga Meditation for about ten years.
Raja Yoga Meditation is working with your mind and it does not require any body movement but only relaxation.  The purpose of this exercise is to enable you to get closer to you soul, release stress, and gain the mind of having world peace by changing yourself.
Ruth Liddle is from London and she has had experiences living in other countries as well as teaching both English and Raja Yoga Meditation.  Before coming to Korea, she lived in Malaysia and Singapore.  There, she also taught English and Raja Yoga Meditation.  Her English teaching experiences include 8 years in London, 4 years in Malaysia, 4 years in Singapore, and 7 years in Korea.
Ruth first started Raja Yoga Meditation when she was in Malaysia.  She has been studying and teaching it ever since. From Malaysia she went to Singapore and now she lives in Korea.  She teaches in Shinsa-dong where she lives with roommates.
To be a student or a teacher of Raja Yoga Meditation is not difficult or expensive. You do not need a license to teach it.  All you need to be is a good student.  To study it is completely fee of chare and convenient.  There are centers in 90 countries.  You can go to any center around the world, and you can learn for free.  Those who are interested are welcome to come and go at any time during session hours.
Before coming to DU, Ruth taught in the Sogang Language Institution for four years.  She has long been interested in the Religion of Buddhism and when she had the chance to come to DU. She could not resist taking the open position.  Because she has taught English in other countries, she does not have a hard time teaching in DU.  She said that Korean students are very bright, kind, and well-mannered compare to students she ha taught in other countries.
Ruth’s students of Raja Yoga Meditation are mostly foreigners who understand English.  Some of her students are DU instructors in the Institute of International Education, but she does not have any DU students who participate.
As a foreigner living in Korea she enjoys and does not have any difficulties.  Transportation is very convenient, school is just a few stops from home, and she is doing what she enjoys most, teaching English and Raja Yoga Meditation.
Teaching both is enjoyable for her. Teaching English she communicates and has experiences teaching students if different places.  Teaching Raja Yoga Meditation she gets to meet many good people and she feels a peaceful silence.
