From Aug. 9 to 13, Baeksang Science Camp was held in Dongguk University (DU) by the College of Natural Science, the College of Engineering, and the College of Information & Industrial Science. Under the banner of "Interesting and Easy to know Science in our Life", the program finished successfully with approximately 70 participants. It was originally planned for elementary and middle school students living in Chung-gu, but soon other districts' residents took part in this program, too. According to chairperson of the Natural Science College, the program was intended to give life to science and engineering, which is stagnant now, and to raise the image of DU.
There were many interesting programs such as making fossil samples, making water rockets, playing with fireworks prepared from flour, and assembling dinosaur bones. "I used to do experiments in my school, but those were boring. On the other hand, these programs are special and exciting," said O Hae-na, a student at Duksung Women's middle school.
