Two seasons have passed since I entered The Dongguk Post and now I am preparing for my second article in the newspaper. When I recall my memory of applying for the Post, I remember I did not have a strong sense of duty as a reporter because I did not know how much time and effort it would involve. However, after I experienced the life of a reporter, my attitude changed quite a lot. Now I am very proud of my job as a reporter and the Post is more than an office that I belong to.
During my first semester in the Post, I had some difficulties because I was not a well-trained person. For example, I had not written any articles in English before, and I did not have any experience abroad so it was not natural for me to write in English. Moreover, when I had to go out to cover stories for a long time, observing the event and taking pictures until it ended was one of the most difficult things I have experienced.
There were also advantages while working as a cub reporter. One thing is that I could change my personality to act more extroverted by trying to contact various people. At first, I was very nervous to make a call to people in charge of departments but those feelings have reduced now and I got to know about school matters and obtain knowledge in many areas. In addition, I was able to accumulate good relationships by spending time with colleagues and seniors.
As I have done until now, I will do my best and go through many experiences to become a competent reporter of The Dongguk Post!
