On February 3rd at 2:30 P.M., the Korean Teachers and Educational Workers’ Union opened a press conference in front of the Main Hall regarding the compulsory transference of the teachers in High School Attached to College of Education Dongguk University.

They explained that one of the teachers has received a documentary warning because he distributed a word of memorial regarding the 4.16 Sewol ferry disaster to his fellow teachers. They also mentioned another teacher who has even received a documentary warning  for teaching his social subject to his students using the drama “Song-got.” The Seoul chapter of the Korean Teachers and Educational Workers’ Union maintained, “Such measure degrades the education for democratic citizens and is against the law, Private School Act 56.”

On the other hand, the board of directors said, “The board of directors have the right to decide the transference of the teachers in schools that belong to its foundation. The recent transference of the teachers was progressed in a legitimate progress and is not disciplinary.
