On October 18th, Dongguk University (President Kim Hee-ok) said that Jeon Byung-hoon, professor at Division of Electricity and Electronic Engineering was selected as a man of merit in student start-up vitalization, receiving a commendation from the Ministry of Education at ¡®UIC EXPO 2014¡¯ in COEX, on October 15th. Professor Jeon, who works as a director of the Youth Entrepreneur Center at Human Resource Development Center and also a director of the Entrepreneurship Center at the LINC Agency, emphasized the importance of students¡¯ business start-ups, leading an active start-up atmosphere among the campus. He operated Fostering System for Global Entrepreneurs, entrepreneurship start-up seminar and arranged start-up system, which was first to introduce among universities, for the activation of start-up education. Moreover, Professor Jeon organized steering committee of the start-up education to make an effort to strengthen Industry-Collaboration through Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with start-up related organizations. Dongguk University has currently concluded Industrial collaborations with Korea Social Network Association, Small Enterprise and Market Service, Soho Korea and CNT Tech, proceeding active research and development. Professor Jeon said, ¡°I want to inform more students that start-ups can be another career through student start-up program.¡± Also, he added his future plan by saying that ¡°I will form start-up eco-system in campus and try hard to spread start-up atmosphere.¡±
