Twelve days of Experience in Seoul with Dongguk

The Dongguk Japanese Summer School, supported by the Office of International Relations, provides Japanese students to experience Korean culture for two weeks. This is a third year; last year, 59 students visited Seoul but this time the expected number of students is 60 to 70. This program will take place mainly in Seoul and at Donnguk University, starting on Monday, August 11th to Friday, August 22nd. It covers learning Korean through classes but it will slightly focused more on the cultural exchange. Activities of watching Nanta and K-pop performances, visiting Broadcasting Station, making Kimchi and taking a Hangang Pleasure boat would present a taste of Korea to the students effectively. Students from Dongguk, who volunteer to help, will be a “Buddy” and be in charge of a group to help the students to learn Korean and to encourage a full experience of Korean culture. This program would not only provide Japanese students to understand Korean culture and boost Dongguk University to gain friendly and positive image, but also would be a great chance to build a good relationship to continue for the future.
