On Monday, November 5th, 2012, a Transnationalism and Cultural Translation Distinguished Poet lecture was held in Myungjin Hall. The invited speaker was Desmond Egan, an Irish poet whose well known poem is “Peace.” In this lecture, he spoke about post modernism, the importance of literature, the differences between Irish poems and English poems, and Irish poetry’s character. He emphasized the effects of English, and the environment and religion on Irish poems, and led to good points of transnationalism and bad points through colonization history and the effects of English.
