Landscaping of the area between Dongguk University subway station to the front of the Academic Cultural Center began on April 12. The asphalt road and parking lot are gone. The street wall below Hyehwa Gate now has into a stone facade as well. Work was completed on June 10.
From April 2 to April 30, the area in front of Myeongjin Hall was covered with granites to make a good appearance. And from March 2 to April 15, one story was added to the Main Hall. The new fifth floor is to be used for reception space.
"As part of DU's 100th Anniversary, these projects were done to impress foreign and other universities' VIPs. DU now has a better exterior than before," said Park Jung-hoon, an official at Facility Management.
