COVID-19 Booster Shot Guideline for Foreigners
COVID-19 booster shot Guideline for foreign nationals of 18 years or older staying in Korea is out. If you are 18 years or older and have completed your primary series vaccination in or outside of Korea, you can receive a booster shot for free. After receiving primary dose(s), booster shot is recommended, or your vaccine pass will become invalid. Vaccine pass will become valid immediately after receiving booster shot.
You can get your booster shot 90 days (three months) after your primary series completion. For Janssen recipients, you can get your booster shot 60 days (2 months) after your initial dose. Currently offered booster shots are mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna), but if you would like to get Janssen as your booster, you may check a public center nearby. Whether you have health insurance or not, you can get booster shot from medical institutions and public health centers.
You can make an appointment online or over the phone, just like how you did for your previous vaccination. For those who were vaccinated outside of Korea, visit a public health center near you with your ID. You can register your international vaccination records by requesting a temporary code.
