   Seonunsa Temple, located in Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do, delivered scholarships to 10 Dongguk University students from Jeollabuk-do. This is the sixth regional future Buddhist education, starting with Pohang Wonbeopsa Temple.

   Ven. Don Kwan Sunim, chairman of the founding committee, said, “It is even more meaningful that Ven. Kyung-woo Sunim directly selects students. I hope this scholarship will serve as a big foundation for students who have a deep connection with Seonunsa Temple.” President Yoon Sung-yee said, “The revitalization of the local temple donation procession shows the bright future of our university.” In addition, he added, “As a prestigious university, we will do our best to help students concentrate on their studies in a comfortable environment.”

   Ven. Kyung-woo Sunim said, he was glad to meet local students in person with this event, adding that he hoped the regional future Buddhist cultivation scholarship would spread nationwide and the precious relationship between the students and the temple would spread.

   Kim Seung-ri, a student at the Division of Korean Language, Literature, and Creative Writing, who received a scholarship, said, “I visited Seonunsa Temple a lot when I started studying for the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) again. I received great comfort when I was mentally struggling, but I think I get a big gift because I can be here over time.” Also, Park In-ah, a student at the Department of Statistics, said, “I think I will be able to have various experiences thanks to the Ven Kyung-woo Sunim. I will continue to serve in education volunteer that I have been doing, and practice mercy.”
