2002 General Election for Student Council

  Joo Jin-wan (Senior, Dept. of Korean Education) and Yang Hee-chang (Senior, Dept. of Semiconductor Science) were candidates for chairperson and vice-chairperson respectively and garnered 6,367 votes out of a total of 12,223 votes in the General Election for the 34th General Student Council (GSC) held from Nov. 13 to 15. The 6,367 votes cast out of a total of 12,223 eligible voters represented a 52.09% voting rate, which was higher than last year's 51.8%.
   The winners said, "We want to thank students for their support. We'll share both campus joy and sorrow with all Donggukians."
   This year, two teams ran in the 34th GSC election after a lapse of 4 years. And Lee Jae-kwang (Junior, Electrical Engineering) and Lee Dong-woo (Junior, Dept of Philosophy), were defeated in the hotly-contested   election.
   Meanwhile, in the 16th General Coed Student Council election, Heo Ko-eun (Sophomore, Dept. of Chinese Lang. & Lit.) and Park Yoon Ji-eun (Senior, Dept. of Drama) were elected chairperson and vice-chairperson respectively by 93.57% of the votes cast by a total of 3,095 voters.
