"The night of art" event was held in October 13th, 2022 by the College of Arts student council. It consisted of two parts, which are exhibition and a screening of a movie. In Paljeongdo, exhibition of works by Department of Fine Arts consisted of Buddhist Art, Korean Painting, Western Painting, and sculpture for seven hours started 12 P.M. and ended 7 P.M.. And movies made by Department of Firm and Digital Media students were shown in Manhae Square.
In detail, there are some works such as two altar portraits of Buddha, a sculpture mobile hanging on the tree, a work related with the modern history of west. These works were sufficient to draw attention of people around the place and many students looked at the exhibition in Paljeongdo. Also, Department of Fine Arts students ran a booth in Paljeongdo which was selling goods such as postcards, 2023 calendar, griptok, lighter made by the students. The booth ran until half past six.
In Manhae square, three movies of students were screened, which are "Our house," "The expiration date of a peach," and "La la land." The College of Arts student council prepared some mats to provide comfort for students watching the movie. Students who were watching the movie could bring something to eat while they were watching the movie. In addition, the College of Arts student council handed out leaflets to students passing by Manhae Square saying if they bring this leaflet to the booth in Manhae Square, they can get a gift from the booth staff.
Kim kwon-woo, a sophomore of Department of sculpture said, "This kind of event held by the College of Art can help increasing a sense of belonging, so I hope this kind of event would be held more often, and other students would pay attention to College of Art through the event."
Through this event "The night of art", many people have known about the capabilities of College of Art students. The Dongguk Post hopes successful college life of the College of Art students, and many Donggukians pay more attention to the College of Art students.
