The General Student Council (GSC) held a press conference regarding the school's disciplinary action taken on Kim Geon-jung, the former vice chairperson of the GSC, in front of the Main Hall, on July 25th at 02:00 P.M. The school announced Kim's suspension from school for an indefinite period on July 18th. It was an official reprimand for destroying the name list of students who enrolled the Students’ General Meeting on September 17th, 2015.

The GSC protested against the school’s measure carrying a banner that reads, “We condemn the school authorities for the unfair indefinite suspension.” They said that the two main reasons of the punishment, damaging school property and draining personal information, are unreasonable. Firstly, tearing the list does not apply to damaging school property since the list was just a copy of the original one. Secondly, the act, destroying the list, has no relation to personal information leakage. “The disciplinary action which the school took is clearly an unfair vindictive action against Kim’s 50 days hunger strike,” Choi Kwang-baek, the former chairperson of the GSC, remarked.

Kim, the person in question, said that he does not understand what he did wrong and why he should be punished. He also said, “What most concerns me is that the school is trying to distract people from its crucial matters by causing other incidents. I hope other students are aware of this fact and maintain their attention to our campus issues."
