The mentoring concert ‘Dong-heng’ was held in the Employment Support Center in the school cafeteria Sangrokwon from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on November 17th. Lots of alumni who are working for major companies, such as SK, Hyundai, and KIA participated, and played a role as a mentor and delivered their knowledge to Donggukians. The mentoring concert was divided into three parts and each part was divided into four sessions. In each session, the alumni gave a presentation about a topic for 20 minutes and students asked questions for 30 minutes. The main theme of the first part was choice of career. Students who participated in the concert got advice about choice of career, the benefits of having a double major, and how to use various school programs. The second part was about understanding of the businesses in a company. This part consisted of practical advice from the alumni who are working in management support, sales, distribution, and finance. In the last part of the program, alumni showed students how to get a job. One alumnus who works for Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. talked about female students’ strategies for employment. In addition, ways to write good self-introductions and apply for internships were suggested to students. In the end, students wrote out application forms for becoming a mentee. The finale was lottery event for students.
