The world protocol has been in effect ever since 15th of February 2005.  Yet, the world has not made any productive outcome that could prevent extreme climate changes. Not even the G8-summit has brought any changes at all. Currently, to decrease the emission of carbon diovide seems hardly possible, because of what we need to let our society run. However, if individuals could work for the betlorment of their environment, not only it will bring benefits to domestic society, but throughout international society as well. First and the formost, individuals must acknowledge the fact that global warming, famine, and extreme climate changes are transnational. The extreme who never had any attention from international society. For instance, Ethiopia, where there used to be a fertile land for crops, are now barren. People are not only suffering from hunger, but from weather as well. According to Jeffrey sachs, they are the first victims of environmental pollution. Although it may not have imminent effect on us, it did on others. In Seoul, the media promotes the use of public transportations as well as car shifting day, known as “Yo-Il-Jea”. It was more of a voluntary work granted to citizens, however, “Yo-Il-Jea” shifted its policy from voluntary to mandatory. In order to decrease the emission of carbon dioxide and lessen the density of dirt in the atmosphere that causes more “Yellow sand,” such policies had to be more pragmatic. Thereby, individuals need to know the severity of extreme climate changes and cooperate to avoid more disastrous outcome from indifference on our environment.   Second, to achieve more realistic strategy to prevent environmental pollution, support Non-Governmental Organization. The characteristics of Non-Governmental Organization are transnational. Rather than the international Governmental Organization. It has been demonstrating for various environmental protections. The Green Peace and Oxfam are the most prominent Non-Governmental Organization which worked for preventing extreme climate changes and environmental pollution. In addition, such organization releases annual reports about the researches it has been working on, and suggests resolution or disagreement towards the International Governments’ policy. The Oxfam usually interacts with economic, poverty, and environmental issues. It is open to publics and individuals could do volunteer works as well. All the more, such organization could help each individuals to participate in prevention campaigns and learn about international affairs more easily. For example, when SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) broke out on 2003, Hong Kong publics held prevention campaign that involves environmental protection as well. Through such disaster, Hong Kong residents began to recognize the importance of healthy environment and the strength of non-governmental movements. Thus, individuals should energize and support their frameworks.   Lastly, the International Government, the United Nations should seek for a better solution that shows coherence. The Kyoto Treaty itself was meaningful, but due to the absence of the US, it was not as effective as expected. Despite it showed development compared to the FCCC (Framework Convention on Climatic Change), it was controversial to some of the developed nations. Cutting down 10% of the emission of carbon diovide by 2010, was in fact, an astonishing vision. However, there was no suggestion or means that could help each nation to reach the goal. The United Nations must further continue its work with the Non-Governmental Organizations, and seek to outline and introduce a plan that each nation could add in their policy. Governments now, need not address abstract, and sugar-coated statements. Albeit economic interest is their top priority, environmental issues come in handy. They should seek for a balanced point where they could achieve economic interest and environmental protection. If this cannot be achieved, human will soon face on outcome that everyone wants to avert.   Consequently, frameworks to prevent more damage in our environment, needs individuals, Non-Governmental Organization, and International Governmental Organization. To tackle environmental problems, vision, systemized plan, and actions are a road to a successful outcome. The United Nations Environmental Progamme alone, cannot stop the damage of our environment. Therefore, organizations and individuals’ participation is the key to make a better environment and reduce pollution in global society.
