Progressive Party Enters the NA
On May 7, a special lecture entitled "The meaning of the progressive party entering the National Assembly (NA)" was held in the seminar room one at the Academic Cultural Center. Due to the popularity of the lecturer Roh Hoe-chan, who is a member of the NA
for Democratic Labor Party, many Donggukians attended the lecture.
The lecturer explained the past and present of Korean politics. "In the past 44 years, citizens were firmly divided by regionalism. But as seen in the 17th General Election, regionalism has gradually decreased," he said.
At the end of the lecture, he criticised Korea's unbalanced education policy. "In Korean society, scholastic ability seems to be transmitted by elites from generation to generation, which is hindering egalitarian of education. In line with this, I am preparing a bill concerning gratuitous education and improving the equality of education," he added.
Kim No-won, a senior who had attended the lecture said, "I hope that the above mentioned policies will be carried out through his energetic activities in the Congress."
