   On March 14, the 60th anniversary memorial ceremony for Beomsan Kim Beop-rin was carried out at Jeonggakwon. The memorial ceremony, which began at 11:00 a.m., was attended by Chairman Don Kwan, President Yun Jae-woong, bereaved family members, and honored guests. Beomsan was a graduate of Jungang Hakrim, the predecessor of Dongguk University, and dedicated himself to the independence movement by participating in the Mandang Association and the Korean Language Society. After independence, he served as the first UNESCO Korean Chairperson and Minister of Education, helping to lay the foundation of the country. He also served as the president and chairman of Dongguk University, striving to foster education and making a great impact on the development of the Buddhist community. The memorial ceremony was organized in the following order: burning incense and laying wreaths from relevant representatives, offering a critical biography, a eulogy, and the recitation of a memorial poem. Chairman Don Kwan and President Yoon Jae-woong laid wreaths on behalf of the organization, and spokespersons from the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, UNESCO Secretary-General Han Kyung-koo, and Kwon Jae-il, Chairman of the Korean Language Society, read eulogies.

   In his eulogy, Don Kwan, the chairman of the board of directors, said that he would strive to improve education by inheriting the spirit of Beomsan, who devoted his life to the independence movement, the development of national Buddhism, and the training of future generations, and emphasized the concepts of living Buddhism and popular Buddhism that he emphasized. Public figures from the political and Buddhist worlds also paid their respects by delivering memorial wreaths. President Yun Seok-yeol, the executive chief of the Korean Buddhist Jogye Order Jin-u, Chief monk at Bong-eun sa Won-myung, the chairman of the emergency committee of People Power Party Han Dong-hoon, Democratic Party of Korea leader Lee Jae-myung, and former presidents Lee Myung-bak, Park Geun-hye, and Moon Jae-in offered the memorial wreaths.
