Dongguk University announced on January 23rd that Metarich representative Kim Sang-bae (Department of Physics 85) visited Dongguk University and donated 100 million won to the university. The event, held at the Dongguk University President’s Office, was attended by Dongguk President Yun Jae-woong, President for External Affairs, Sung Jeong-seok, Dean of Art College, Jung Dal-young, officials, and Kim Sang-bae. 

   Mr. Kim, who enrolled in the Department of Physics at Dongguk University in 1985, currently serves as the CEO of Metarich, a corporate insurance agency (GA). Mr. Kim said he participated in the donation out of his interest and affection for Dongguk University, including serving as the chairman of the Homecoming Day Alumni Event Promotion Committee. “I decided to make this donation in the hope that my alma mater will develop further and that the juniors will be able to study in a better environment,” he said. “In particular, I would like to actively support the juniors in the fields of culture/art and business administration, so this year, I will donate to the Faculty of Fine Arts, Korean Music Department, and the Graduate School of Business (MBA), and will continue to donate to the school at the beginning of each year.” President Yun Jae-woong said, “Alumnus Kim Sang-bae, who continues to show interest and love for his alma mater, is a strong supporter for Dongguk University. We will do our best to establish the foundation of the university and foster outstanding talents by accepting his will.” Metarich is a company specializing in the sales management of financial products. According to its company profile on Job Korea, the company employs 3,700 people and has about 3,000 professional consultants on its website.
