  Last October, an anonymous monk donated 100 million won to Dongguk University. The story he donated was belatedly known recently, so many people were moved by his great act. The old monk visited Dongguk University and said he want to donate without sharing his name or identity.

 “I decided to donate to Dongguk University, Korean-Buddhism Jogye Order university for postgraduate training after my health worsen,” he said. He also added “I hope it would be helpful to Dongguk University’s Buddhism education.”

  Dongguk University thanked him for giving such precious material, and promised to do their best to foster Buddhist talents in accordance with the monk’s hope. Students who heard the news also thanked the old monk. Some st udent said that the mon k’s heartwarming behavior was inspiring.

  Kim Yoo-min (Department of Political Science and Diplomacy 22), said “I was so moved to hear the news. It is heartwarming news in this cold winter. I would like to thank the monk who donated money for the development of Dongguk university. I feel that I should study harder and participate in school activities to repay the kindness of him. I want to thank him, but it is regrettable that I cannot do so because he donated anonymously. I want to become a great person like him in the future, too.”

  On the other hand, it is known that this anonymously donated old monk also donated to Dongguk university in the past.
