The Dongguk Post Helps Me to Develop Myself

   I entered the division of English Language and Literature in 2019 just because I liked English. However, it was difficult to learn only one subject intensively, and I lost interest in English. The life of a freshman last year was boring and hard. To regain interest in English, I applied for the Dongguk Post in April. I think my choice of applying for the Dongguk Post is probably the best one this year.

   The process of directly investigating and translating various events and fields was really rewarding. In addition, I was able to get rid of the fear of English by getting my articles edited by my colleagues and professors. When I saw a newspaper with an article I wrote, I was even moved. However, there were many difficulties with writing an article. Since it was the first time with the whole process, including covering, interviewing, and editing other reporters’ articles, I was clumsy and made a lot of mistakes. I could not do anything well, but I was able to overcome the difficulties thanks to good colleagues. They explained and guided me in detail. 

   For me, who lived a monotonous life because of COVID-19, the experience as a cub reporter during the first semester was more meaningful than anything else, and it became an opportunity to develop my various abilities. I am still an inexperienced, clumsy reporter. However, I will take more sense of responsibility and continue to develop myself since I debuted as a “post reporter.”
