Thanks to the Dongguk Post, I Have Grown Myself a Lot

   Presently, I am satisfied to be a member of the Dongguk Post. At first, applying for the Dongguk Post was a big challenge for me as I had to write an article in English, which I am still learning. Before I became a cub reporter, I was very worried about whether I could do the job given to me, and was afraid of making mistakes. However, I was able to dispel my concerns through the process of publishing articles. Thankfully, teachers and colleagues taught me what to do and how to do in detail. Furthermore, they helped me achieve good results through sustained communications. I learned a lot from the “item meeting” that determinesthe contents of the article to be written before we actually write them and “peer sending,” a time to give feedbacks by reading each other’s writings.

   It is hard for me to say that I have completely overcome my concerns about making mistakes by just publishing a newspaper once. I still spend a lot of time trying not to make errors. Nevertheless, I think this challenge is very meaningful. Working with my colleagues, I had an opportunity to obtain a sense of belonging in a community and a chance to improve my weaknesses. In particular, I believe that being a member of the community means doing the work given to me faithfully. I used to have a habit of putting off work. However, I was able to overcome my habit while taking on jobs like interviewing and collecting news that would cause trouble to everyone if I did not work hard and finish in time.

   After a probation period, I have become a post reporter. I think I should feel more sense of responsibility because I am a post reporter now. There are still many things I need to learn through the Dongguk Post, but I will enjoy my work. Thanks to teachers and colleagues, I was able to feel worth through the Dongguk Post activities, so I will try my best to make new reporters feel comfortable when they come.
