I bet being a reporter of the Dongguk Post is the best thing I have done in my college life so far. I met a lot of respectable co-workers and had much experience. I am so thankful to my colleagues, teachers and interviewees for helping me write better articles during my probation period. Working as a cub reporter was much harder than I expected and it demanded big responsibility.
First, asking for an interview or finding news item were tough for me, who were introverted. However, I took courage continuously and became more confident as I accumulated my experiences. Also, I had to immerse myself in writing articles to convey accurate and detailed information. Luckily, I could learn a lot from my respectable colleagues such as critical attitudes toward my writings and the importance of refining structure and of thinking about what information students would need the most. What is more, I realized that I should study English more. Before I became a cub reporter, I thought I was quite good at English but I realized I was not. It was so hard for me to write articles in English properly.
As I am a post reporter now, I feel more responsibility and pressure. Also, I am a little worried if I do not perform well with the work assigned to a post reporter. So I will work hard to write useful, interesting articles and help students get information about Dongguk University through the Dongguk Post. In addition, I want to improve my English and develop the Dongguk Post with my colleagues and new cub reporters. I am really looking forward to having new experiences, writing new articles and meeting new cub reporters!
