Donggukians, Let's Fall in Dongguk!

    Last month, for three days from September 17th to 19th, the fall festival “Fall in Dongguk” was held. Many various kinds of events and programs were hosted.On the first day of the festival, September 17th, although there was no celebrity performance, lots of different kinds of programs were prepared. At Manhae square, there was “Fall in Movie” from 6 P.M. to 10 P.M. From 6 P.M. to 8 P.M., “Intimate Strangers (2018)” and “The Intern (2015)“ were screened. Other than this, there were also Food trucks and booths, and students’ night booths. There was also a surprise event held at the food trucks, giving free coupons for alcoholic drinks to 400 people on a “first-come first-served” basis. At Paljeongdo, there were the students’ booths such as “Dongwha”, “Kusa” and others.

   On the next day, September 18th , food trucks and booths continued and moreover, many events were prepared. First, there was “Life in four photos” event which was held until 11 P.M.  Students were able to get their photos instantly with 2 thousand won. Many students were in line for the photo booth. Lee Sang-Don, the Freshman of  Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, said “This photo booth was very unique and meaningful so I wanted to leave precious memories with my friends.” Also, photo zone was opened at the Large Stadium from 10 A.M. to 10 P.M. At the photo zone, there were Indian tents, airbeds and many other props were set up which looked similar to the “Han River Picnic Zone”.

   Moreover, there were “Treasure Hunt” and “Gather stamps” events. “Treasure Hunt” was an event that students had to look for the black and white color Joker cards which were hidden all over the school campus. This event went on until all the cards were hunted. “Gather stamps” was an event drawing for prizes among students who filled up 10 stamps from the booths. Lastly, there was “Slow Mailbox," which was the event writing to oneself about any resolution for the remaining 2019. The mail is supposed to be delivered in September, 2020. Furthermore, performances of clubs and celebrities were held. First, club performance was held from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M. After that, singers “Yun DDan DDan” and “Gummy” visited our school on this day. They performed their hit songs and many students liked it and shouted out for encores.

   On September 19th, which was the last day of the festival, some more new programs were held. “MICDROP masked song festival” was one of them. This was a unique form of song contest which evaluated the participants only by the voice itself, with the participants’ faces hidden. There were prizes for the contest to the 1st place, 2nd place, and the 3rd. There was also the audience evaluation group for this contest. Many students applied for the evaluation group. After this program, there was the Baeksang cheering squad performance. Baeksang cheering squad performed many cheerful songs. Followed by their performance, there was the celebrity performance from 9:30 P.M. Rapper Simon Dominic came to perform. Photo zone was also opened on this day.

   The second school festival, “Fall in Dongguk” was completed. Although it was almost right after the beginning of school, many students enjoyed the festival since there were many programs, events and performances prepared for Donggukians.
