On September 12th 6:30 P.M., the Student Council of the College of Social Science held a hearing at the building of Business Administration to discuss about the problem they received on the representatives’ meeting on August 24th. This day, the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Student Council of the college of Social Science and each department of Social Science and students of Dongguk University participated the hearing. It started with having a question period to the Chairperson Jang Su-jung and the Vice President Park Kyung-gun of the Student Council of the college of Social Science.
At first, the Chairperson and Vice Chariperson of each department brought up the problem with the connection between Midongchu (Dongguk Promotion Committee for the Future) and the Student Council of the College of Social Science. The Vice Chairperson of Food Industrial Management mentioned “I know the Student Council of the College of Social Science has members of Midongchu including the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson. In the representatives’ meeting, the council said they received proposal of struggle against President Han Tae-sik (Bo-gwang). However, I am having a doubt that it is not just a proposal but the council is used as a tool to achieve Midongchu’s purpose."
After that, the question period was given to the general students of Dongguk University. One of the questioners, Oh Se-hoon (Sophomore, Media Communication), asked about the detail of the meeting’s process which might help students who could not participate the meeting.
Furthermore, other doubts including the Vice Chairperson Park Kyung-gun having a discussion with Midongchu before with the Student Council and oppressive mood during the decision-making process in the representatives’ meeting were discussed. The Vice President Park Kyung-gun apologized about all of the occurred problems and stated that these problems resulted from the communicational problems with each department of the College of Social Science.
Lastly, the hearing ended at 10:00 P.M., being in agreement to upload the contents of this discussion and apology statement on the “Dongguk Apple,” the facebook of the Student Council of the College of Social Science.
