On September 22nd, 3:00 P.M., at the front gate of the Main Hall, the General Student Council (GSC) launched a proclamation ceremony for the General Student Assembly.
An Dre, the chairperson of the GSC, stated that the assembly, which will be held on October 11th, 5:30 P.M., at the Manhae Plaza, holds two agendas. Firstly, the normalization of Dongguk University, and secondly the democratization of Dongguk University.
Kim Geon-jung, the former vice chairperson of the GSC also took part in the ceremony, requesting students to join the student council on October 11th. “There are students saying that the whole protest that the GSC has been proceeding has no point. Yet, we made Ven Ilmyun Sunim resign from the board of directors. Did we really do nothing? Together, we can change the university,” stated Kim Geon-jung during his speech.
Chairperson An also made clear that, after the general student assembly has finished, the GSC will be heading to the president’s office. “Be ready to face the final judgment from the students, President Han,” he said as he concluded the assembly.
