The GSC (General Student Council) held a candlelight vigil, on August 18th, in front of the Main Hall starting from 7:30 P.M., to stand against the promotion of the Lifelong Education College program.

The candlelight vigil, which lasted for an hour, started off with a speech from An Dre, the chairperson of the GSC. He mentioned that the school has rejected to their three demands: to withdraw the transfer of the department of Global Trade, to hold another meeting in November and withdraw the plan if additional problems are spotted, and an official apology from President Han Tea Shik (Bokwang). These demands have been  made by the GSC after the discussion table that was held on August 16th and were submitted to the Office of Planning on the day after.

During the candlelight vigil, other students at the scene stood up to make their speeches. One student who wished to stay anonymous said, “The behavior of the school is what makes me so angry. They have been arrogant from the start of the discussion table yesterday.”

The candlelight vigil will be held regularly on every Tuesdays and Thursdays, but there might be a change to hold only once in a week, according to Chairperson An. He stated, "We will not fall to the school’s constant demand to stop the sit-down. As I mentioned many times, we will keep fighting until the withdrawal is confirmed.”
