The Central Library at Dongguk University was selected as one of the curators of projects named “Humanities on the Road” for 2016, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and conducted by Korean Library Association. Accordingly, the Central Library is going to carry out programs regarding humanities from May to October.

The Central Library will shed a new light on Chungmuro. It will host seven lectures, two tour programs, and two follow-up meetings for participants regarding films. The three themes are “The History of Film,” “The Practice of Film Production,” and “Different Considerations of Films.” Anyone can participate in the programs, except “The Practice of Film Production,” which is only for elementary and middle school students.

The first event was a lecture by Professor Yu Ji-na from the Department of Film and Digital Media at Dongguk University and was held on May 25th. The next event is a lecture by Professor Yeon Dong-won from Myongji University. It will be held in the AV Room in the Central Library on June 1st at 6:00 P.M.

Choi Il-woo, the section chief of the Central Library, said, “It is a meaningful project because we can conduct programs that promote humanities and make the best use of regional characteristics.”
