As graduation requirements have been revised, students in the College of Education are now obligated to complete “First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Practicum” from this year.

Since the Sewol ferry tragedy, the issue of safety at school has come to the fore, so a presidential decree has been made requiring the training of future teachers on how to act during an emergency. Students will learn the measures to take and lead people in an emergency situation during the practicum. Moreover, they are going to practice how to give first aid and CPR for emergency patients.

The new regulation applies to all undergraduates in the College of Education, but students who have only one semester left before graduating have been exempted. Senior students have to go through the practicum once, while others will have to participate at least twice before they graduate. The place where the practicum will take place will be decided within this semester.
