On May 19th, a “One day Master Interview” was held at Hyehwa Hall starting from nine o’clock until seven. In the morning, there were three parts of simulation interviews where groups of students each did different parts of interviews. After that, there was lunch time for an hour. In the afternoon, there was a wrap-up seminar that was held for questions and answers and additional feedback was given at Main Auditorium. In this interview seminar, 150 participants attended, which consisted of mostly senior students who are looking for future employment. About thirty-eight juniors, who were either taking the “Strategy for basic job performance” or “Job Competence and Mentoring” class attended as it was mandatory for them to pass the courses. For seniors, this simulation interview program was crucial as it provided real practice with personal directors who are currently working in Korea’s conglomerates.  The students could gain real-life advice from personal directors. Also, for the juniors, it provided them with the experience of writing resumes and cover letters and gave them the chance to learn about life skills before jumping into the real job market.

The simulation interview was divided into three sections. The first was a personality interview where personal directors asked question based on each student’s cover letter. The second one was an in-depth interview, where students were pressured and asked questions about their knowledge on the positions they were applying for. Lastly, the third part was a presentation interview where the students would give a presentation for ten minutes based on the topic that was given to them before. In the wrap-up seminar, students, who participated in the simulation interview, were given the opportunity to ask questions directly towards among 21 of the personal directors. Jung Ji-eun, who is a junior majoring in English Language and Literature, said “This simulation interview helped me a lot since I earned confidence from it.”
