I can   remember when  I  participated in   the Essay Contest  last  semester.  It  was  a  totally   awful and           embarrassing experience.   A thousand   butterflies took flight in   my stomach  when  I handed   in my  essay.           Honestly, I thought of heading  to the door a  thousands of times .  But I  did not  want to  give up  during the           contest. Writing and organizing my  thoughts in English is very  complicated and  the time  limit was  especially           difficult for me as everybody did. Anyway,  when I read  the articles that the others wrote for that contest in No.     335 of The Dongguk Post, I wanted to crawl into a very small hole like a mouse. That's why I  hesitated  to  to           write something  in English  when the  Post asked  me. However, I   didn't, because   I knew  that   it  would           improve my writing skills, no  matter what people think  about my  writhing.  One more   thing; I  want to   say          "thanks" to Sherbo for his enthusiasm at the Dongguk  Post and for  giving advice to  all of  us with  all his  heart.    Now, lets get  back to  the main  topic, which  is the cover  story.  I  actually  read  it  with  great  interest,           because I felt that the issue covered by the Post was of personal interest to me .  As a job-hunter and  senior, I           was obligated   to keep   an eye  on  the  political  and economic situation in order get a nice job.  First of all, I think that the cover story was organized well and  made  a brief   report about  President Kim's achievements and weaknesses  during the past  5 years. Moreover, owing to the survey,  I got an opportunity to compare my   ideas with   Donggukian's general   ideas, which was very meaningful at that time. Secondly, I got another chance to consider what was done or wasn't as he promised before becoming President. I  also think it's very important  to  evaluate, promote  and  improve the next regime. However, I was a bit disappointed with the conclusion  reached by   the Post.  As  a   matter of  fact, I   was expecting to hear fresh and creative ideas from the Post reporters, who don't  get censored. In  other words,  the Post just  repeated the  major press'  viewpoints, and  I couldn't  find  anything  different  from  them.  In  this situation, why would anyone choose the Post. It is not a matter of how to  write in English, but  how to present information that is valuable and efficient. Let me  demonstrate a  way to  make the  process of organizing information more  creative. According  to one Japanese professor,  information consists of two different kinds of knowledge. One  is Tacit Knowledge,  which is subjective: knowledge of experience (body), simultaneous knowledge  (here   and  now)   and analog   knowledge (practice).  The  other  is  Explicit  Knowledge  that  is knowledge of   rationality (mind),  sequential  knowledge (there and   then) and  digital knowledge   (theory). We usually focus on the  latter. However the  important and excellent   information   is  in   the   former.   Through     discussion, observance and  sharing experience mutually,  we would surely get fresh and creative ideas from these activities. In order to do that,  it is necessary to have a system that can stimulate each member regularly. It is a  very  common story  that the  mass media  is  forcing us to  work just on   our appearance  and what we look like than  on what we  have experienced. Even though society  focus on  diversity, we  became already similar because to each other of the mass media. I truly  recommend that it's time to think about what Robert  E. Guinn said   in his  book,  Deep  Change (1996).   Deep Change is to 'Travel naked into  the land of uncertainty and get lost with confidence'.
