Jonggakwon will start to issue a certificate identifying Donggukians (not only for students but for faculties) as a Buddhist from next year. Oh Young-kyo, president of Dongguk University (DU), already took the certificate on October 10th, this year for the first time in DU. It will be a pride for Donggukians in that it proves them to become members of 103-year-old Buddhist institution.
There are some conditions to get the certificate. You have to participate in Buddhist ceremony held at Jeonggakwon at least 3 months and pay l0, 000won for an annual membership. By obtaining it, you can get some discounts on facilities like Dongguk University medical center affiliated by Jogye Order.
