The “WCU project” is a higher education subsidy program. It invites international scholars with advanced research capabilities to collaborate with Korean faculty members and to facilitate new academic programs in key growth-generating fields.
Professors Kang and Yang will get a 5 year government subsidy of 3.5 billion to help promote scientific research. Their research will focus on display information using nanorod; this will be done in collaboration with Kang L. Wang, an Electrical Engineering professor at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), and Rajeev Ahuja, a professor at Uppsala University in Sweden.
With support from the Korean government, we hope that Nano-technology research will greatly improve and concomitantly gain international recognition for our university.
