Alumni's donation: All donggukian's one percent division project

< Alumni Donors: Donggukian one percent donation project >

"This project is a first step to creating a donation culture at Dongguk University," said Mr. Park Hyuk-sang in the Office of External Affairs and Development.
On June 27 through 30 and July 11 through 12, a campaign entitled "Donggukian one percent division project" was held in the Main Auditorium of DU.  The office launched this project to build up the school's scholarship fund.
This project concentrates mainly on the alumni who graduated from the school in the 1980's.  The project goes like this: a hundred supporters speak to a hundred alumni on the telephone to explain to them the purpose of the campaign and request a donation.  These supporters are both Donggukians and school officials who are not professional telemarketers.  Many alumni haven't been in contact with the school for a long time since their graduation. They are really glad to get a call from the school," said Mr. Park.
By July, the total amount of money that graduates donated to the school reached around 450 million won, which came from 200 donors.
"We are going to send specific information to the donors and keep them informed about the campaign's progress. We also plan to contact ten to twenty thousand alumni this year,"  added Mr. Park.
