On March 24, there was a significant Buddhist ceremony in Jeonggakwon led by Monk Hyun-hae. Jeonggakwon holds these ceremonies periodically to remind us of the importance of the Buddha's word. This was called "Great Priest Invitation to a Buddhist Ceremony," focuses on Buddhist sermons.
Monk Hyun-hae, Dongguk Academy chief director, preached under the banner of "Knowing Buddhism, Being Cheerful the World." The ceremony began with Sam-Gui-Eui-Rei, a Buddhist rite.
"I'm not a big monk nor a zen master, because my thoughts of Buddhism are simple and, as you can see, I'm a small man," he modestly said. Monk Hyun-hae's lecture mainly focused on Dae Do Mu Moon, which means any one need not pass through a door in order to enter Buddhism.
"Since there isn't a door to enter Buddhism, everyone is allowed to become a Buddhist pupil. This teaching tells us that Buddhism isn't far from us," he emphasized and finished the ceremony.
