Dongguk University was selected as the best university in the information and communication field on the 12th in the “2022 Industry Perspective University Evaluation” organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Institute of Technology Education. Since 2008, the Ministry of Education and the Korea Institute of Technology Education have conducted an industry-based university evaluation every year to foster talented students with convergence capabilities in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution and operate a curriculum that meets industry demand. This year, a total of four areas of information and communication engineering/civil engineering/artificial intelligence/smart factory were evaluated for 26 universities and 42 departments across the country.

   The evaluation committee consisting of industry/university officials with a high understanding of the evaluation field evaluates the performance of universities (departments) in three areas and nine indicators: industry-based curriculum design, curriculum operation, and curriculum operation performance. In particular, this year, the index reflected the university’s efforts to revitalize its own industry-academic cooperation model to foster future talent.

   Dongguk University’s Information and Communication Engineering major received the best grade in the information and communication field, receiving a joint certificate from the Ministry of Education, five economic organizations, and the Korea Institute of Technology Education. In particular, “LINC 3.0 Project Industry-Academic Cooperation Leading Department” and “New Industry Intellectual Property Convergence Talent Training Project” are underway, and “Smart Ocean Mobility” contract department, which will be confirmed to join Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering at the same time as graduation from the first semester of 2023.
