   On April 29th, Dongguk University has held the first anniversary of the foundation of a Construction Committee ceremony at 11 A.M. in the middle auditorium of the main building. With the vision of Construction Committee, development of Dongguk University and revival of Buddhism, the ceremony was conducted as both face-to-face with the live streaming on the YouTube channel.

   Many guests including Ven. Jaseung sunim, the chairman of the Dongguk University Construction Committee, attended at the ceremony and students who receive the scholarship of Dongguk construction have also attended at the ceremony with being awarded the certificate of the scholarship. Lee Jung-min, a Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) announcer from Dongguk University has hosted the ceremony.

   Yoon Sung-Yee, the president of Dongguk University, explained the process of foundation of the Construction Committee, organization chart of it, vision with goals, and the major businesses with each purpose. He said, “The vision is clear, the development of Dongguk and revival of Buddhism. For this vision, we will devote ourselves to this together incessantly.” He mainly explained the main businesses of the university. The businesses he explained consisted of digital metaverse of Dongguk University, publication the book on the implementation of the construction ideology, Dongguk Construction Scholarship system, securing of competitiveness in employment of students, digital Great Sutra business, cyber university foundation, and so on.

   He said the detail explanations such as the plan of connection with metaverse as using the characteristics and strengths of Dongguk University, or plan of holding a job fair for a week in the university to promote the strengths of employment or start-up and help students to be able to advance into society successfully.

   After the explanation of his, there was an award ceremony of Dongguk Construction Scholarship. The thoughts and wills of students who received the scholarship were shown as a pre-recorded video. One of the students who is majoring in law said, “It is honor to receive this Construction Scholarship which will help me in the process of achieving my goals. I am going to live a life which oblige mine as I received.” 

   Additionally, there was a ceremony of the letter of appointment. Nine Members including professor and sunim of the publication committee for the book on the implementation of the construction ideology got the letter of appointment. 

   Also, there was an achievement award. A university faculty member received the award. Ven. Jaseung sunim, the chairman of the Dongguk University Construction Committee, has presented the award.
