Although it is a hot summer, most people are not able to freely go on a vacation due to the COVID-19. To beat the sweltering heat, the Dongguk Post would like to recommend a Disney movie that will cool you down. It is “Moana,” which was released in 2017. Moana is the name of the main character. She lives on Motonui, an island in the middle of the sea. From an early age, Moana always wanted to go beyond the blue sea. Over time, as she becomes an adult, she makes several attempts to get out of the sea but fails due to rough waves. With her repeated failures, Moana feels fear of the sea and gradually gives up her own dream. Unfortunately, it is not long before an unexpected danger strikes the island. Accordingly, Moana gathers courage again and begins an adventure to protect the island. The movie unfolds about Moana going on an adventure to protect the island’s safety. Check out the ending of the movie by yourself.
In addition to providing a sense of coolness using the sea as a background, another reason why I recommend this movie is because of the original soundtrack that reminds us of the blue sea. The various soundtracks used in the movie are still loved by many people. One of the most popular and well-known songs of the Moana soundtrack is “How Far I’ll Go.” This soundtrack is sung by Auli’i Cravalho and talks about Moana’s desire to see the outside world. The refreshing sound of instruments that go well with the clear voice is an attractive element of this song. In addition to this, I also recommend the song “I Am Moana.” Telling one’s story through a song gave me the effect of making more immersed in the movie. Sohyang, the famous Korean singer, also covered this song.
In a situation where many people are exhausted because of the sweltering heat, I think the movie Moana is a work that can present new vitality to people. By watching Moana, a movie full of blue colors and lively music, why don’t you blow away the heat?

Learning about other countries’ history is exciting and many might enjoy it. There are various ways to learn history, such as reading books, taking a lecture that covers history or watching documentaries and so on. Also, learning history by visiting a country which has a remarkable story can be an effective way due to the vivid experience. Currently, it is hard to enjoy a history trip as COVID-19 is still striking the entire world since last year. Going abroad on an airplane to visit another country’s historic place has become an overreaching dream to some people. Then, how about enjoying a flight to learn foreign history through TV with an expert? The Dongguk Post would like to recommend a TV program called “Naked World History” to people who like history and desire a flight overseas.
It is a program that an expert explains the history of various countries with the concept of an airline. Expert who leads the trip changes every week as the program covers different topics. Moreover, except for the regular panel, various foreign panels related to the topic’s country appear on the program. They are giving information about the culture that might be unacquainted for viewers. The program is not only sharing historical knowledge but also providing various audiovisual materials which can increase understanding. The most memorable topic was “Marie Antoinette.” She was the queen of Paris and sentenced to death from the guillotine. I did not know minutely about the state of a period in Paris. However, after watching the lecture proceeded in the airline by Cho Han-ook, a professor who studies Western history, I could learn and understand the revolution that occurred in France. It made me feel like I was in France to learn the history by listening to a story-telling of an expert. Due to the expertise, the program gives a lot of interesting information about history. If you like history, the Dongguk Post recommends “Naked World History.” You can also solve the quiz during the program to check your historical knowledge. Enjoy the travel!
