Dongguk University is launching the first lecture of K-MOOC which is a Korean version of massive online open course. The lecture deals with chemistry and everybody can take the lectures from December, 2016 to March, 2017.
The course which Dongguk University has opened is “Life Is Communication with Chemical Materials: Well-being Science” of which lecture is Yeo In-hyeong, a professor of the Department of Chemistry. It is held with the support from ACE project and aims to help people develop a better sight facing various daily chemicals such as foods and cosmetics.
The course is made up of 15 lectures including mid-term and final exam based on online system. However, the tests will be committed on off-line only for Donggukians.
Anyone who wants to accumulate knowledge about the topic including students of Dongguk University can apply for the course from November 28th to December 19th. Then they can take lectures from December 5th, 2016 to March 19th, 2017. People can apply for and take the course after joining the website of K-MOOC (http://www.kmooc.kr).
Jang Yeon-ju, the researcher of the Center for Teaching & Learning, said, “It is free for everyone to take the course. Moreover, especially for Donggukians, the course will be accepted as a two-credit cyber class next semester.”
