Currently, the third floor has five carrels that serve as a private reading room, four study rooms which can hold up to four students and six study rooms that have a capacity of eight. Also, a total of 126 reading rooms, 38 of which face the window are placed around the third floor. The newly created conference rooms, which can hold up to 50 people are ready to be used with acoustics, microphone, and a beam projector. The former seminar rooms on the third floor also have gone through a remodeling as well and are equipped with 40 inch plasma display panels.
Other than the third floor, the laptop zone on each floor has been removed permanently and turned into seminar rooms with glass walls. Each seminar room, which can hold up to 14 students, has white boards as their walls and a 60 inch plasma display panel.
As for the new regulations, the Central Library now bans bringing in drinks other than water bottles and tumblers.
Many students are showing interest to the remodeled library. An Advertising Major, Hong Song-yeon, claimed that like its name, the Central Library has developed into a place which focuses on the real needs of the students. “Throughout my school years, the improvement of the Central Library has helped me raise my grade. I am glad that the library provides the environments not only for students to study, but also to relax,”said she. The remodeled Central Library will be open from today.
