The subjects for liberal arts have been changed to improve the quality for students effective from the first semester of 2013. Students can delete their grades for which they participated in last semester from a total of 33 core liberal arts subjects and 37 general liberal arts subjects because they are gone . An Understanding Myths and Culture class which once was a core liberal arts subject was changed to a general liberal arts will be checked off as general liberal arts credits for students who wish to take this class again. Seven subjects have changed on their schedule. They will be opened both in the first and second semester.
In addition, some subjects’ titles were changed and students who want to take these classes again to get better grades should choose other classes. There are five common liberal arts courses which include Basic English Reading, English Reading 1, English Conversation 1, English Reading 2 and English Conversation. Also there are five core liberal arts courses which include Exploring Language and 28 general liberal arts subjects. Also, some courses that were newly made include 3 common liberal arts, 37 core liberal arts, one basic studying and 44 general liberal arts classes. There are some subjects that changed their code numbers and number of credits as well.
Also, the guide for business school freshman was changed that required core courses and other details of the subjects. For example, business school freshman do not need to take Financial Accounting and Career Plans to graduate, but have to take Business Mathematics, Business Economics, Business Statistics, Principles of Accounting and Intermediate Accounting 1. This is because the business school has combined its major for better education quality and has sought to reduce the effort to consider the future major and can make them as students who can deal with everything to some degree. To learn more details about this information, you can visit the Dongguk University homepage’s academic affairs notification and the notice number is 2503 for liberal arts subjects and 1341 for business school guide for 2013 freshman.
