On November 9th, a Date with Principal Oh Young-Kyo was held in the Rose Bud Cafe in front of OwnheungKhwan. Some students were able to attend because of tickets they won through a lottery system. The meeting lasted for two hours and the students could ask the principal many questions and receive many answers in a friendly atmosphere. Some questions were expressed with an earnest tone.

An Kuk-Hwa, from the Dept of Education asked advice from the principal. "How do you solve internal problems about new projects?" The principal said that we like to maintain the present system so it is natural that there is resistance. If you are afraid of change and resistance then nothing will ever change. Therefore, we must provide reasonable evidence to those who reject change.

Principal Oh also had some advice for students who want to have a worthwhile university life. "Whatever is your major, whatever the situation, your foremost goal should be to find your own dream. Then it is important to prepare for that dream and to have a concrete vision of how to accomplish it. Nowadays society wants all graduating students to possess thinking skills.” He also emphasized that students do extracurricular activities but urged them not to sacrifice their regular school classes in favor of these.  He said these activities would be a great help to build up specialized knowledge.

Students were pleased with the meeting as they were given a rare opportunity to meet with the principal and communicate up-close and personal. Many students hoped such visitations could be held more frequently.
