TLO is the organization which manufactures DGU’s research products for outside businesses. The Industry-Academic Cooperation is the department in charge of our TLO.
In the first project from 2006 to 2008, eighteen universities took part with the four lowest scoring teams facing expulsion. So, in the second project from 2009 to 2011, DGU was one of the four universities replacing the bottom four. Now DGU proudly shares rank with previous winners such as Seoul National University, Korea University and Yonsei University.
For next two years, DGU will receive at least 400 million won for outside working expenses. The university will use this money to recruit more expertise and to implement more competitive strategies. The prize money will also be spent on research and strengthening infrastructure.
"At first our university wasn't selected; however we eventually came through. It is important that we improve our technology and our university," said Lee Chang-hak, head of the Industry-Academic Cooperation team.
