This lecture focused on follow-up measures that South Korea should take following the historical summit talks. Han Ho-suk dealt with political and other complicated issues including U.S. Force stationed in Korea, and the outdated National Security Law opposed to reciprocity of the Joint Declaration.
He explained, "The Joint Declaration is a remarkable achievement since the 1972 South-North Joint Communique was signed. It was believed that two separated Korea could never become together after the Korean War. But now, the two Koreas are getting close to each other in the wake of the last summit talks, and we are creating a common ground that we can share.?
At the end of the lecture, he stressed that it is our historical duty to realize the June 15 Declaration and he added, "To secure our independence is the keynote to carry out the unification of the Korean peninsula."
