"He is one of the most memorable student among people who I've ever seen.  It was very impressive for me that he always try hard and sincerely to do something.  I think he is a model of Donggukians,“ said Jang Ji-hong, a consultant of Job Support for Recruiting.  The student who is in Mr. Jang's memory is Kim Young-myoung, who is working in Metropolitan Headquarters of Samsungfire Consultant Academy (SCA) as a head of sales department.  He entered Dongguk University (DU) in 2002 and he is majoring in Indian Philosophy and Public Administration.  He didn't graduate from DU yet.But in current job market filled with fierce competition, he successfully got a job.  Moreover he was promoted driving on without a stop in his company after 8 months since he was employed.  Let's listen to his story.

  University Life
In fact, he has no special careers that most member of the elite have.  His average grade is 3.3 points and TOEIC score is above 700.  Frankly speaking, these score is not enough tojoin a certain big company people generally want.  However he says the numeral value is not critical thing in employment.  “The score is not an important thing but an objective measure to just judge one's sincerity.  The more important thing is competitiveness which one has not the grade.  It is also profound to show how you live enthusiastically as youth besides studying your major to interviewers.  Because the enthusiasm is the strongest merit which only the youth have.  However the young students of today seem extremely concentrate on just visible records so it is tantalizing.  If you look around, you will be realized that there are a lot of things to do in addition to good grade.  I think the momentous things are positive, honest mind and humble attitude.  It was not until these are satisfied that you can be estimated by oneself not measurement,” he said.
Most college students choose their major because of the type of work it will prepare them to do.  However he chose Indian Philosophy that many people avoid to get better career as a main major.  “I, too, already knew most corporation don't prefer humane studies when they decide to employ.  But learning Indian Philosophy gave me chance to experience a lot.  Many classes related to philosophy were helpful for me to improve considerable insight of life.  So I was unshakable in my convictions,” Mr. Kim said.  And then he added, “the company's leading principle in employment is to select competent person who is adaptable.  Whether they have plenty of knowledge or not, it is better for company to choose flexible employee to their organization.  Therefore major and university level is not important.  But it is important to let them know how much your personal ability is and how much you bring profits to your company."
Also he stressed that it is better to determine your destination as soon as possible.  If you choose your course, you can prepare immediately and easily.  “In my case, I realized sales department is proper to me because I likes to have a conversation with others and didn't like passivity.  From that time, I had concerned about social relationship and humanity that are vital in sales.  Tour and reading books can cultivate these things.”

  Prepare Job Hunting
Actually he didn't prepare job hunting.  Because he had been preparing know-how for getting a job during his university constantly.  “There were remarkable development in the information system, you can get information about employment everywhere once you try.  Once you gather the needed information on the company, then you just let them know your effort. And show your vision and potential possibility.  You should give deep impression to interviewers because you can't express everything within short time and people who have similar ability apply.”
One way he suggested is humor.  “I have no particular and proud careers so that interviewed with humor about my common experience.”  Another thing to succeed in job seeking is confidence.  “Your job interview is the most important part of any job application.  Although, it is very hard for passive person.  But no one does understand your depression.  Even the interviewer doesnot know tour thinking and feeling that you want to express.  The way to recover this dread is not to hesitate speaking in front if others and speak in your daily lives like presenting in your class.  This is not built in a day but is possible through constant effort.”
“And don't be impatient just wondering what questions will be asked.  It is good to answer honestly without any addition and subtraction.  Another people don't know what you don't know.  Maybe, the questioners are more interested in how you solve embarrassing situation.  But remember this; you have to appeal that you'll be advanced in working and you'll render great services to the development of the company.”

  Advices
"Recently Donggukians don't seem proud of and complained about their school.  I think oneself is prior than one's circumstance.  Success is up to your strong endeavor.
Also use school recruit program and diverse supporting system more.  The way isn't far from you.
Lastly, I want to advise you that nice job and company don't mean key to success.  The Life is very long and employment is a part of life.Don't be in constant fear of job hunting and do effort.  Then your effort will return to you sometime.  Though is hard now, believe yourself and be brave.  Because we have powerful tool of the youth."
