On Sept. 24, Dongguk University (DU) presented a performance in the auditorium in the Academic Cultural Center. This event was intended to cheer up lonely elder persons who live in Chung-gu. About 150 elderly men enjoyed the performance and later dined in Sanglokwon. The DU Cooperative prepared the meal, which cost about five million won. The Dean of Women's Affair assisted at this event as well.
  "I'm happy to see the performance and eat the delicious dinner. Thanks very much for inviting us to DU," said a grandmother.
  In addition, some Donggukians including a foreigner made Songphyun and gave it to the elderly men.
  DU has supported the elderly in Chung-gu for seven years. The purpose of this event is to help the elderly feel less lonely during the holidays Chuseok. Choi Jung-suk, on the staff of the Dean of Student Welfare, said "We have assisted them financially with approximately 100 million won over seven years. DU will continue to support the Chung-gu."
