Pay Special Attention to the Student Elections

On November 28th to 30th, Dongguk University’s student elections period has started. From 10 A.M. to 6 P.M., non-face-to-face voting is in progress via uDRIMS. Through the election, The Department Students’ Association, The College Students’ Association, The College Student Council, and The General Student Council will be organized. Student autonomy organization protect the rights of students. By communicating with school, various face-to-face events can be held in next year. If the student representative organization is not elected, it is hard to reap the benefits of welfare and administration systems.

Nevertheless, The Tuition Review Advisory Committee, The Graduation Preparation Committee, and The Students’ Club Union have not been formed. As a result, freshmen orientation, school club festival, and Daedongjae festival in next spring are far from certain. Interest in the student community has declined recently, and its expectations are getting lower. For the future of Dongguk University, students should pay particular attention to the self-governing and voting. If the turnout does not exceed in 50 percent, the votes will be considered invalid. If the election fails, The Emergency Measures Committee will be operated, and students might face many difficulties.
