Editor-in-Chief in the Sookmyung Times
Thanks to my acquaintance with the Editor-in-Chief of The Dongguk Post, even though I am not a Dongguk University student, I read The Dongguk Post. I know how difficult it is to make a magazine as I am working for an English magazine at my university. Above all, I want to congratulate the reporters at The Dongguk Post, who have forged ahead with their work.
While reading The Dongguk Post, I realized that there are many essays written by contributing students. However, there are few reader written pieces contributed to The Sookmyung Times. This can be a good source of feedback for the magazine. It can offer many varying opinions in a wide range of fields. This is one of its good points, but also, it pushes readers who read The Dongguk Post to be actively involved in the publication. It is very important to walk in step with readers. When making a magazine all the work is never done by one person. Only the readers who read our magazine make it a publication.
However, sometimes it lacks in depth articles. Moreover, The Dongguk Post contains many typographical errors such as unity of marking or explanations for abbreviations. Of course, there is no exception for The Sookmyung Times. We also make mistakes. However, while this may seem like an unimportant detail, publishers should try to minimize mistakes. Ultimately, it would be connected for the delicate consideration a paper has for its readers.
Layouts also need to be considered. The Donnguk Post has restrictive pages which can use all color. On the color pages, it is good to use brilliant and showy images and colors. However, sometimes it can disturb readers?attention on articles themselves. On CURRENT, and REVIEW, illustration and background of image is dark. It is difficult for me to read it. It needs to have symmetry of letters and images.
In addition, a publisher should try to make something new. What I read for fun is CLICK ON JOB. Today, for university students, careers and jobs are a matter of grave concern. It lets me know new and different career information not just public subscriptions or company introductions. Other sections focused on what is already known. It is difficult to make something new, but a publisher must try and do this. However, I believe The Dongguk Post will do a good job. I wish The Dongguk Post all the best and many successes.
